Food for Thought Meetings

Are you interested in serving on ASUAF's Food for Thought Committee? We are looking for committee members, consisting of: 

  • (3) students appointed by the ASUAF President and confirmed by the Senate

  • (4) students appointed by the ASUAF Senate Chair and confirmed by the Senate

  • The Director of Dining Services or an appointed designee

  • The Director of Residence Life or an appointed designee

  • Residence Hall Association member

  • R.I.S.E Board member

The Food for Thought Committee shall act as a liaison between the members of ASUAF, the ASUAF Student Government, UAF Dining Services, the Department of Residence Life, Residence Hall Association, and R.I.S.E Board.  It is to facilitate discussion between ASUAF members and campus life organizations.

Are you in a club or student organization? Would you like to be a part of serving and promoting UAF student clubs? ASUAF Student Government has $8,000 in their budget line to give to clubs this upcoming year! (See budget here)

ASUAF Club Council is now recruiting! There are 6 council seats available:

  1. Academic and Departmental

  2. Honor Society

  3. Political Activism

  4. Recreation Sport

  5. Religious and Spiritual

  6. At-Large

If you are interested in running for a seat on Club Council, please email Melissa Clark at maclark11@alaska.edu. The election for Club Council will take place the first week of October, per section 720.1.6 of the ASUAF Bylaws.

Course Sharing and Class Length Survey

 

UAF Faculty Senate wants student input on potential expansion of course-sharing options (allowing UAF and UAA students to take classes at either university through two-way video) and changes to the usual class length (from 60/90 minutes to 50/75 minutes) that would make course-sharing between the universities easier.

ASUAF Committee Meeting Times

Meeting times for the ASUAF Committees have been decided for the Spring semester. Each committee is tasked with discussing the legislation that is assigned to at the previous Sunday's Senate meeting. All meetings are open to the public, and attendance is encouraged. For more information on committees, check out the ASUAF Senate Committees. All meetings are held in the ASUAF Office, located in the Wood Center.
