An Act to Separate the Body from the Head
First Considered: 3/6/16
Whereas The ASUAF senate in its current form does not hold authority over any member of the Executive Cabinet except for the Office of the President and Vice President;
Whereas The Senate evaluating the paid positions of the Executive Office outside of President and Vice President is inappropriate when the President evaluates the need for positions in their own cabinet; and
Whereas Bylaw 321.7 charges the Internal Affairs Chair to evaluate paid positions:
“To evaluate each paid position in ASUAF on an annual basis and make recommendations to the Senate, each March, on the need for continued funding of the position for the following year. ”
This is an archaic bylaw that does not reflect how ASUAF currently operates; now, therefore be it
Enacted, That The Bylaw be struck and replaced with:
321.7 To evaluate the paid positions of the Senate and the ASUAF President and Vice President on an annual basis and make recommendations to the Senate, each March, on the need for continued funding of the position for the following year.
Statement of Purpose: The ASUAF Senate may only evaluate the Senate’s paid positions and President and Vice President on their need for continued funding.
